What great fun it is to be able to do the things we love to do. In addition to how much I love being an elementary principal, I have found a true love in presenting at workshops around the country. From Memphis, TN to Orlando, FL------from San Antonio, TX to Scottsbluff, NE------people are clamoring to learn more about how to effectively communicate with other people in their workplace and in their personal lives. As I was stuck in Houston today due to weather issues, I watched people get so very frustrated with the gate agents and service people who were there to help. We sometimes really do act as if the airlines are purposefully thwarting our travel plans and we forget they are humans too with feelings too. I watched a young man slam his hand down on the counter in frustration....as if this is going to make his flight arrive sooner? I pray for peace and serenity in these trying times --- praryers for me but also prayers for those who are

There are times in which I am saddened by a parent's lack of involvement with their child. There are times I wish a staff member could see another staff member's point of view. But, at the end of the day, I LOVE what I do. I am so grateful to have been able to spend the last seven years being the instructional leader at an elementary school that fosters love and learning. I will take the lessons learned with me wherever I go.
